Pamela M. Kato, Ed.M., Ph.D., Principal Investigator, Re-Mission Outcomes Study  Dr. Pamela Kato is the Principal Investigator of the Re-Mission Outcome Study. Dr. Kato has extensive experience in the field of developmental health psychology, with special expertise in the area of psychosocial interventions for young people with chronic illness. Dr. Kato has played a key role at HopeLab since 1999, helping found and build the organization. Over the course of the Re-Mission project, she led an interdisciplinary team of health psychologists, medical specialists, and interactive technology experts in the development of cutting edge solutions for young people with cancer.Dr. Kato has a B.S.L.A. in Japanese Language and Studio Art from Georgetown University (1986), an Ed.M. in Counseling and Consulting Psychology from Harvard University (1989) and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Stanford University (1996). She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University (2000). She has won awards for her publications on health and behavior and frequently speaks at national and international conferences. Dr. Kato has held an appointment as Visiting Scholar in Comparative Media Studies at MIT and is currently on the Clinical Faculty in Pediatrics at the Stanford University Medical Center. Dr. Kato is also a member of the Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society.
