The Blog Post

When you’re a small nonprofit like we are at HopeLab, impact is sometimes measured by what you’re doing to promote the greater good, not just the number of customers you reach through products and programs. The insights we share about our work – lessons learned, risks taken that paid off (and the one’s that didn’t) – are valuable measures of impact as well.

In fact, right now we’re looking for someone to join our team who can help us broaden our impact in just this way: We’re hiring a Manager of Communications & Emerging Media to help us tell the HopeLab story. The ideal candidate? A talented writer/editor with a passion for social media, a nose for newsworthy stories, and a creative take on smart, clear communications. A few tech skills somewhere in their bag of tricks will come in handy too.

And what’s the HopeLab story? We’re harnessing the power and appeal of technology to improve the health and quality of life of young people. We make fun products that promote healthy behavior. To do this, we work closely with young people to understand their needs and to incorporate their critical and ongoing input into product development. We’re also committed to the scientific study of our products, through formative research and outcome studies, to ensure that they are effective. Our first product was the Re-Mission video game for young cancer patients, and now we’re tackling childhood obesity with a new product called Zamzee .

So, if this sounds like a job for you, check our website and blog to learn more about our work and ponder the possibilities.
