Verónica Marín-Bowling

Project Director, Research

Verónica Marín-Bowling is responsible for the coordination of research efforts at HopeLab, including scheduling focus groups and usability studies, managing data, and ensuring that HopeLab’s research projects run smoothly and effectively. She is also responsible for adapting and translating HopeLab study documentation and interactive technology interventions for the Spanish-speaking population.

Verónica played a key role in the formative research and development of HopeLab’s first product, the Re-Mission video game for teens and young adults with cancer. She also provided leadership in the management of the 34-site Re-Mission Outcomes Study to evaluate the efficacy of the game. Results of this research were published in August 2008 in the medical journal Pediatrics .

Verónica received her M.A. (equiv.) in Psychology from the University of Guadalajara in 1999, where she was valedictorian of her graduating class. She is an experienced clinical psychologist who established a private practice serving children and adults in Guadalajara, Mexico, before joining HopeLab in 2003. Verónica also served as a school psychologist for several years, providing psychological services to students, teachers, and parents at the primary, secondary, and collegiate level.
