Charlyn Belluzzo, Ph.D.

Dr. Belluzzo provides guidance and support to HopeLab on key strategic partnerships to increase HopeLab’s institutional resources and leverage our impact.
Dr. Belluzzo is an internationally recognized health and wellness expert and author. Her career has been devoted to the improvement of human health and vitality through research and program development that supports both physiological and psycho-social health for individuals and specific population groups. Drawing from her pharmaceutical research training and understanding of the scientific process, her efforts have led to contributions in the fields of nutritional, preventative and community health.
In addition to her work with HopeLab, Dr. Belluzzo serves as a member of the board of directors for the San Francisco World Affairs Council, the University of Colorado Center for Global Health, and an advisory board member to the Gladstone Biomedical Research Institute. She is a faculty member of the Medical Knowledge Institute (MKI), based in the Netherlands, providing programs that promote and improve the quality of healthcare as a human right in the developing world, particularly addressing issues of cancer care and HIV/AIDS and was a founding director of Rwanda Works (RW) in association with the Millennium Villages Project and UNDP in the Bugesera District, Rwanda.
Though classically trained in an academic sense, Dr. Belluzzo has made it her mission to expand our path on the road to wellness by living a life engaging all of your natural senses, sight sound, smell touch and taste. In recent years, following a long career in health and research, she founded Amorosa Bella Winery.
Dr. Belluzzo has earned graduate degrees and received post-graduate training from LaSalle University (Ph.D., 1995), Georgetown University School of Medicine (HIV/AIDS Research Fellowship, 1999-2000), University of Colorado School of Business (MBA, 2002), and Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (Ph.D., 2007).
